Introduction
United Software Developers, Inc. ("USD") operates MVRNOW and other software platforms and services. This Privacy Policy & Motor Vehicle Record Privacy Notice applies to MVRNOW, the MVRNOW website, related APIs, software applications, BrokersOnTheGo.com, and other websites and online services operated by USD unless a separate privacy notice applies.
USD values your right to privacy and is committed to protecting personal information and motor vehicle record information entrusted to us. This Notice describes how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and safeguard information when you access or use our Services. By accessing or using our Services, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of information as described in this Notice.
1. Information We Collect
USD collects information necessary to establish subscriber accounts, authenticate users, process motor vehicle record requests, maintain audit logs, provide customer support, comply with legal obligations, and improve our Services. Our websites may also collect technical information including IP address, browser type, operating system, cookies, session identifiers, and website usage analytics.
2. Information We Receive
Information processed through MVRNOW may be obtained from subscribers and authorized users, participating state motor vehicle agencies, government agencies, payment processors, third-party service providers supporting the Services, and information submitted during account registration, credentialing, compliance reviews, or customer support interactions.
3. IP Addresses
USD uses IP addresses to diagnose technical problems, administer our systems, maintain security, investigate suspicious activity, and improve the performance of our Services.
4. Cookies
USD uses cookies for user convenience and session management. Sensitive or personal information is never stored in cookies. USD does not initiate cookies on behalf of unrelated third parties.
5. Use of Personal Information
Personal information is used to establish subscriber accounts; authenticate users; verify subscriber eligibility; process motor vehicle record requests; maintain audit logs; provide customer support; comply with legal and contractual obligations; detect fraud and unauthorized activity; and improve the security and operation of the Services.
6. Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Privacy Notice
MVRNOW provides authorized access to motor vehicle records obtained from participating state motor vehicle agencies. Motor vehicle record information is protected by the Driver's Privacy Protection Act (DPPA), applicable state privacy laws, and contractual obligations established by participating motor vehicle agencies. USD does not own motor vehicle records. Ownership remains with the originating motor vehicle agency unless otherwise provided by law or contract.
7. Authorized Access & DPPA Permissible Use
Access to MVRNOW is limited to approved subscribers who successfully complete USD's credentialing and compliance review process. Subscribers may access motor vehicle records only for approved DPPA permissible purpose(s) and applicable state-authorized purposes.
8. Disclosure of Information
Motor vehicle record information is disclosed only to approved subscribers that have been authorized for one or more permissible purposes under the Driver's Privacy Protection Act (DPPA) and applicable state law. USD provides access to motor vehicle records through the MVRNOW platform pursuant to agreements with participating motor vehicle agencies and applicable law.
9. Website Activity Logging
USD logs activity performed on its websites and systems to detect fraudulent activity, investigate security incidents, identify system faults, measure system performance, satisfy audit requirements, and comply with applicable laws. Information used for research or statistical purposes is de-identified whenever reasonably possible.
10. Password Security
USD will never ask you for your password. Users are responsible for safeguarding their usernames and passwords and should never share credentials with another individual.
11. Information Security
USD maintains administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Security controls include encrypted communications using TLS, role-based access controls, audit logging, security monitoring, vulnerability management, documented incident response procedures, employee privacy and security awareness training, and an independently audited SOC 2 Type II information security program. Access to personal information and motor vehicle record information is restricted to authorized personnel with a legitimate business need. While no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure, USD continually evaluates and improves its security controls.
12. Monitoring & Compliance
Subscriber activity, report requests, user access, and administrative actions may be logged and monitored. Subscriber accounts may be subject to initial credentialing, periodic re-verification, annual compliance certifications where applicable, activity monitoring, compliance reviews, and audits to verify continued eligibility and compliance with applicable laws and subscriber agreements.
13. Record Retention
USD retains subscriber records, transaction logs, audit records, and compliance documentation only as long as necessary to satisfy legal, contractual, operational, regulatory, and audit requirements. Records are securely destroyed or disposed of when retention requirements expire.
14. Subscriber Responsibilities
Subscribers are responsible for maintaining accurate account information, protecting user credentials, limiting access to authorized personnel, obtaining required authorizations or consent forms where applicable, promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access or misuse, and cooperating with compliance reviews and audits.
15. Children's Privacy
MVRNOW is intended for use by businesses and authorized organizations. The Services are not directed to children under the age of 13, and USD does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
16. Changes to this Notice
This Privacy Policy & Motor Vehicle Record Privacy Notice may be updated periodically to reflect changes in law, business practices, technology, or services. Material revisions will be reflected by updating the Last Updated date on this page.
